Nay Pyi Taw January 5
KIA terrorist insurgents active in Manwe-ingyi-Gaikhteik region, Mansi Township, Bhamo District, Kachin State, are smuggling out Myanmar natural resources including timber to the other country. More-over, the KIA terrorist insurgents from Mangan Village, Manweingyi Village-tract, tried to shoot down a helicopter used for Tatmadaw administrative affairs on 27 November 2017, and it was slightly damaged. When Tatmadaw columns conducted regional security operations on the scene and its surrounding areas, they found and seized the camps where the KIA terrorist insurgents were engaging in smuggling goods.
During the operations that started in an area about 25 miles southwest of Namkham town on 13 November 2017, the Tatmadaw columns had some clashes with the KIA terrorist insurgents. Up to 3 January this year, 18 small camps and four main camps of KIA were seized.
After starting attacks at main camps of KIA terrorist insurgents with the support fire of heavy weapons this morning, the Tatmadaw columns occupied C4 hill at estimated map reference LG-387264 at 10.30 am, C1 hill at estimated map reference LG-373263 at 4.30 pm and C2 hill at estimated map reference LG-375262 at 6 pm respectively.
In the incidents, strongly-built bankers, buildings, vouchers used in collection of extorted money, small arms and ammunition were seized from the enemy and some enemies were killed.
Due to occupying the camp, a main route which illegally passes Momeik and Mabein townships to smuggle Myanmar’s precious natural resources and timber to other country could be closed and put under control. The Tatmadaw columns are in hot pursuit of fleeing terrorist insurgents and continue exposing main points including other illegal routes.
