Nay Pyi Taw August 3
Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief(Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win received Philippine Ambassador to Myanmar. H.E. Mr. Eduardo E. Kapunan, Jr. at the parlour of Zeyathiri Villa in Nay Pyi Taw at 2 pm yesterday.
Also present at the call were Commander-in-Chief (Navy)Admiral Tin Aung San, and senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief(Army),and the Philippine Ambassador was accompanied by Military Attache’ Col. Vicente Mark Anthony p. Blanco III and officials.
The two held frank discussions on cooperation with the Philippine Foreign Ministry to form a committee for cooperation between the two countries, and closer practical cooperation between the two armed forces, and exchange of experiences between two armed forces as the two countries share a lot in common in the history and the challenges facing them, and the Philippine's powerful crackdown on drugs and human trafficking, and exchange of anti-terrorism experiences as well as exchange of goodwill delegations between the two armed forces and potential for cooperation in enhancing the defence capabilities.
After the meeting, the Vice-Senior General presented gifts to the Philippine Ambassador and posed for documentary photo together with those present.
