Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation who are on a goodwill tour of Japan visited Maruyama Seiman micro noodle factory in Tokyo and Komeri Home Center and significant places in Nagoya yesterday.

Accompanied by wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Lt-Gen Soe Htut of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), senior military officers, Myanmar Ambassador to Japan U Thurein Thant Zin, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Saw Min and officials, the Senior General arrived at Maruyama Seiman in Tokyo at 9 am local standard time yesterday. At the parlour, owner of the factory Mr. MARUYAMA KAZUHIRO presented production and distribution of noodles. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing asked for more information.

Mr. MARUYAMA KAZUHIRO and officials conducted the Senior General and delegation round the production line.

The factory has the capacity to produce noodles from five tons of flour a day. The fully-automated factory has only about 30 staff. It is distributing fresh and quality noodles daily to shops in Tokyo.

At 11.25 am local standard time, the Senior General and party left Tokyo railway station by Max TOKI-p393 Shinkansen bullet train for Nagoya. They arrived at Nagoya railway station at 1 pm local standard time and were welcomed by Chairman of Japan-Myanmar Association Mr. Hideo WATANABE.

Next, the Senior General and delegation members went to KOMERI Home Center and viewed the display of household goods, consumer products and farm equipment at the booths. They were conducted round there by KOMERI Power Mr. Hihoshi Hayakawa and officials. KOMERI Home Center is opened to sell innovated products so as to develop the agriculture sector of Japan. It is a large sales center for modern garden and farm equipment, construction materials, household utensils and tools. The center was opened in 1996 and there are about 1,200 branches across Japan.

Then, the Senior General and party visited the memorial to Yamamoto Isoroku, who was famous admiral in World War II. Within the memorial, they viewed the historical background of Admiral Yamamoto Isoroku and his personal items. They were conducted round there by officials.

Afterwards, the Senior General and party proceeded to the residence of Admiral Yama-moto Isoroku. The admiral was the person who drew a sudden bombing scheme for the Pearl Harbor of the United States. While serving as naval captain, he served as Japan's naval military attaché in the US from 1926 to 1928. When he rose to rear admiral in 1929, he developed zero fighters. When Yamamoto Isoroku became admiral, he tried his best to carry out a scheme about the bombing of Pearl Harbor for anti-Americanism war. He was a Japanese heroic admiral who fell in a plane crash shot down by the US troops as he inspected a Japanese military camp in the South Pacific Ocean on 1 April in 1941. Displayed in the memorial are Admiral Yamamoto Isoroku's personal items and documentary photos, one wing of the shot down plane carrying him, his seat and historical records.
