Cash donations made for Thirimingala Maha Sasana Beikman for the second time

The Sasana Beikman is built as a foundation for the perpetuation of Buddhism. Merits are gained as it is built for the purification,perpetuation and promotion of the Sasana, said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the second ceremony held at Zeyathiri Beikman of Yangon Command at 1 pm today to donate cash for Thirimingala Maha Sasana Beikman by the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air)families and well-wishers. The Sasana Beikman will be built in the compound of Lawkha Chantha Abhaya Labha Muni Buddha Image on Mindhamma Hillock in Insein Township.

Present on the occasion were Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Yangon Command and donors.

In connection with the cash donations, the Senior General said the donors made a supplication to the Sayadaws on the matter of donating a Sasana Beikman in Yangon North District where such a building is required. Annually,over 440 monks, nuns and laypersons sit for Abhidhamma and Visuddhi Magga examination, over 500 for Dhammacariya examinations, over 2,200 for Pali Pahtamapyan examination,between 200 and 300 for Five Nikaya examination in the district. The Beikman will become a venue for these examinations and other religious occasions. Ovada was sought from Insein Ywama Pariyatti Sarthintaik Sayadaw to draw its design. The chairman Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee graced the stake driving ceremony and named it“Thirimingala Maha Sasana Beikman” as it will be located near the Image. The Senior General thanked the donors saying they will gain merits for their pure goodwill as the Beikman will serve as the Sasana’s foundation.

First, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and family presented Ks-10 million and was accepted by Quartermaster-General Lt-Gen Nyo Saw.

Then, Senor General Min Aung Hlaing accepted Ks-34 million for construction of Thiri mingala Maha Sasana Beikman donated by Vice President U Myint Swe, Ks-50 million by Shwe Taung Co Ltd,Ks-35 million by Mother Industrial Co Ltd, Ks-30 million each by Brighter Future Foundation, Ayeyawady Foundation, Htoo Foundation and Kunkhoya Foundation, Ks-20 million each by Nay Kabar Myanmar Construction Co Ltd, Amazing Group, Kyel Nilar Co, Aung Myin Thu, Sky One Co Ltd, KT Development,Authentic Co Ltd and Sharing Hands Foundation of IGE and Ks-10 million by Nawng Tong Co.

Next, Chief of the General Staff(Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo accepted Ks-35 million donated by Myanmar Economic Holdings Ltd, Ks-15 million by Copper Mining (Monywa), Ks-12.3 million by Victory Myanmar Group Co Ltd and Concord Industries Ltd,Ks-10 million by Myanmar Brewery Ltd and Ks-34 million by 10 companies.

Next, Commander-in-Chief(Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San accepted Ks-11million donated by Nan Thazin (Yangon) Co, Ks-8 million by Dana Tun Co and Thanlwin-Myanmar (Mandalay) Co, and Ks-12 million by 10 companies.

Afterwards, Lt-Gen Soe Htut of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) accepted Ks-10 million donated by Okkar Thiri Co Ltd, Ks-10 million by Chan Hein Co Ltd and Ks-25 million by nine companies.

After that, the commander of Yangon Command and well-wishers presented Ks-10 million donated by regiments and units under Yangon Command and Ks-70.3 million by Yangon Region Police Force and 10 companies to Adjutant-General Lt-Gen Hsan Oo.

Then, Quartermaster-General Lt-Gen Nyo Saw accepted Ks-10 million donated by Myint Tet Co and more than Ks-19.1 million by No 2 Security Police Battalions Command and 10 companies.

After the ceremony, the Senior General and party cordially greeted the well-wishers and viewed documentary photos on construction of the Sasana Beikman.

The Yesterday’s second donations for the Sasana Beikman amounted to more than Ks-739 million. The first and second donations totalled more than Ks-929 million.The Sasana Beikman, 186 feet long and 72 feet wide, will be a two-storey building under construction in the precinct which is close to Lawka Chantha Abhaya Labha Muni Buddha Image on Mindhamma Hill lock in Insein Township.Upon completion, the Sasana Beikman will be a facility for smoothly holding religious examinations and religious ceremonies of members of the Sangha from Yangon North District.
