Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meets Foreign Secretary H.E. Dr. S. Jaishankar of the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

Border peace and stability contributes a lot to border region development.Easy contacts and transport are important and facilitate border security as well. Thus, the authorities from both sides along the border and military officials need to have closer ties, make friendly and cordial discussions and promptly put those discussions into reality, said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing as he received Foreign Secretary H.E. Dr. S. Jaishankar of the Ministry of External Affairs of India at Bayintnaung Parlour here at 1.30 pm yesterday.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo and Lt-Gen Soe Htut of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army).The Indian Foreign Secretary was accompanied by Indian Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Vikram Misri and officials.
Both sides cordially discussed promotion of cooperation between the two militaries as the two countries have been good and friendly neighbours, exchange of goodwill visits, implementation of Myanmar’s peace process, yielding of good results from bilateral coordination meetings on border peace, security and development and Tatmadaw’s assistance and cooperation in drawing demarcation lines.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the Indian Foreign Secretary exchanged gifts and posed for documentary photo together with those present.
