Police fires shots at suspected attackers in Maungtaw

A polic e post in Maungtaw Township was forced to open fire at a group of people stalking the post late last night, according to the Information Committee of the State Counsellor’s Office.

At about 12:50am yesterday, an unidentified group gathered at the fence of the police post. Police fired shots at the group and later found the body of a man with a gunshot wound in the chest while conducting a clearance operation in the area.

The committee also said that 10 suspicious villagers were also detained in Buthidaung Township. The No.3 Border Guard Police Force detained the 10 suspects for suspected involvement in violent attacks, including Adu Kardi.
