Myanmar’s documentary film about Kayah Sate entitled “To be discovered: Kayah State” won the diamond award and the grand price of the golden city gate’s award at the International Travel Trade Show.
The ITB show, the world’s largest travel trade fair, took place from 9 to 13 March in Berlin of Germany.
Tourist organizations, traffic carrier, tour operator, hotel business, research institute, educational institution, tourism associations and institutions, travel technology, information and reservation systems, travel agency, business travel, publisher, press and telecommunications were present at the show. Altogether 40 tour operators from Myanmar participated in the event, featuring documentary video clips about the country’s beautiful natural landscapes.
Over 10,000 exhibitors from more than 180 countries displayed their services and businesses at the ITB Berlin. During the event, officials from United Nations World Tourism Organization and International Trade Center recognized Myanmar as a country which possesses great tourist potential and attractions in many fields and urged the audiences to visit the golden land.
The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is currently planning a major tourism project with the assistance of the World Bank, Union Minister U Htay Aung said.
