Ceremony to open Myanmar-India UN Peacekeeping Operation Training Course held


The opening ceremony of UN Peacekeeping Operation Training Course in progress.

A ceremony to launch the UN Peacekeeping Operation Training Course which was conducted as training cooperation between Myanmar Tatmadaw and Indian Armed Forces took place at Park Royal Hotel, here, this morning,with an address by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win.

Also present at the ceremony together with the Vice-Senior General were senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army),Indian Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Shri Vikram Misri and Indian Defence Attaché Col. Naveen Mahajan, trainer officers from the Center for United Nations Peacekeeping (CUNPK) of the Indian Armed Forces, trainee officers and other ranks from Myanmar Tatmadaw.

At the opening ceremony, Vice-Senior General Soe Win and Indian Ambassador to Myanmar H.E.Mr. Shri Vikram Misri delivered addresses.

A trainer officer from Center for United Nations Peacekeeping(CUNPK) reported on participation of India in the UN Peacekeeping Operation through PowerPoint presentation.

The Vice-Senior General and party posed for documentary photo together with those present at the ceremony, trainer officers from CUNPK and trainee officers.

The training course which will last till 17 August 2018 will include theoretical and practical training on ethics of the UN Peacekeeping troops, protection for civilians, protection for children,military-civilian cooperation,and history of the UN Peacekeeping Operation and undertakings.
