Armoured corps is a corps deploying warfare with firing power, and after the armoured troops have mainly finalized the fighting at the conventional wars, infantry troops occupied the targets. As armoured troops must have skills of mobility and accuracy, it needs to always take training to have skill, said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at his meeting with officer trainers and servicemen and officer trainees and servicemen at the armoured training school in Kyaukse Station this noon.

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Central Command, officer trainers and servicemen from the armoured training school, and officer trainees and servicemen.

At the meeting, the Senior General said the Tatmadaw is being built to become a Standard Army to be able to operate conventional wars so as to defend the country, not to attack other country. The servicemen at different levels wherever they serve at any troops must have skills of fighting similar to those of infantry units. As health and fitness are basic for each soldier, emphasis is being placed on basic food and accommodation for them. The Senior General stressed the need to take physical exercises daily for having health and body fitness. Moreover, the Senior General said that military unit-owned agriculture and livestock breeding tasks as well as manageable scale agriculture and livestock breeding tasks are being undertaken for ensuring welfare for families of the Tatmadaw members. By eating fresh meat and fish and vegetables produced from military unit-owned agriculture and livestock breeding farms, they will get healthy nutritious elements. The Senior General urged them to conscientiously avoid indulgence and drinking which may cause undesirable crimes and harm their health conditions.

Necessary teaching aid is being provided for sharpening skills of individual soldiers. Tatmadawmen for their part need training to be familiar with the machinery and weapons they handle. Every soldier must have the courage that goes together with patriotism and nationalism. Patriotism means the spirit of not tolerating own country being hurt and having nationalistic fervour to protect the country. They must try to become good soldiers and have enduring training to promote their ability, said the Senior General.

A Tatmadawman must be loyal to himself as he has to recite the oaths of the Tatmadaw daily. Individuals’ ability will lead to improving the skills of their own unit and then the whole Tatmadaw. The Tatmadaw is a part of the State, which will develop if all the people are to work hard. Efforts of individual servicemen will create a Tatmadaw beneficial to the country. This is why they must be loyal to themselves, the Tatmadaw and the State. Everyone has the right to climb the highest peak. To improve their life, they need to follow the military discipline and work hard. Only then will they have chances to improve their life, said the Senior General.

The Senior General then presented fiction and non-fiction books for the families of officers and other ranks to the commandant. Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San presented sports gear and Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw Shwe Phi Oo instant tea packages.

The Senior General and party went round in the machinery and teaching aid simulation booth of the training school and had lunch together with the trainees. At the meeting hall, the commandant reported on opening of courses and the Senior General left necessary instructions.
