Four improvised landmines

Four improvised landmines, found in a conduit tube under the Lashio-Muse Union Highway between Kutkai and Theinni yesterday and security forces had to defuse them, according to the Office of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
The landmines were made of steel pipes, 6-inch in height and 4-inch in diameter, attached with 7 fuses and four 12-volt batteries.
Government troops, while conducting area clearance operations, were attacked with grenades by 10 members of the TNLA yesterday morning but they got away when government troops returned fire.
