Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Ambassador of Norway to Myanmar H.E. Ms. Ann Ollestad, who had completed her tour of duty, at Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw at 9 am yesterday.
At the meeting, the Senior General explained ensuring the firm process for the path of current multiparty democracy system which the Tatmadaw longs for, participation of all armed ethnic groups in the peace-making process through the political trend, and partaking of the Tatmadaw in prevailing peace and stability for the development of the nation.
Afterwards, they cordially exchanged views on successful holding of the Myanmar’s 2015 general election and peaceful handing over of State duty to the government in the second term, arrangements for convening the Union Peace Conference—the 21st Century Panglong Conference, constructive attitude and requirements of legal activity for standing of armed ethnic groups, opinions over foreign countries and organizations which participated in the peace processes, assistance of Norway for peace process of Myanmar and development tasks of the nation, and further cementing of bilateral relations and promotion of cooperation between armed forces of the two countries.
Also present at the meeting were Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in- Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and senior military officers of the Office of the Commanderin- Chief (Army). (100)
