Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received House Democracy Partnership Chairman Mr. Peter Roskam of the United States Congress and party at Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw at 4 pm yesterday.
The Senior General and the guests held frank discussions on the Tatmadaw’s assistance towards the second government since democratic path was chosen by the people, selection and appointment of military representatives to the parliaments, their freedom of debates and proposals in the parliaments, and their contributions to respective parliaments, potential for cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, the role of the Tatmadaw in country’s ongoing peace process and holding of 21st century Panglong Conference, and Myanmar’s foreign relations with neighbours, regional and international countries.
Also present at the call were Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in- Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win, and senior military officers of the Commander-in-Chief Office (Army), and US Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Scot Marciel and US congressmen. After the meeting, memorial gifts were given and documentary photo was taken.
