Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meets Vice Admiral Kulekov Valaydii of Black Sea Fleet Naval Headquarters,observes cruiser, submarine

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a goodwill visit to the Russian Federation,held a meeting with Vice Admiral Kulekov Valaydii of Black Sea Fleet Naval Headquarters at the meeting hall of Sevastopol Hotel at 9 am local standard time yesterday.

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief(Army), and Myanmar Military Attaché to the Russian Federation Brig-Gen Nyunt Swe. Vice Admiral Kulekov Valaydii was accompanied by senior military officers of Black Sea Fleet Naval Headquarters.

First, a senior military officer from Black Sea Fleet Naval Headquarters explained history of Black Sea Fleet Naval Headquarters,its important role in defending the southern part of Russia, successfully participation in wars throughout the history, and joining the new wars through power point presentation.The Senior General asked what he wanted to know.

Next, the Senior General and party toured Sevastopol Town and visited Cruiser Moskva at the northern port by speed boat.

Captain of Cruiser Moskva Lt. Commander OLEY GUK accorded a guard of honour welcome to the Senior General and conducted him round the cruiser where the Senior General asked various things he wanted to know. Afterwards, they posed for documentary photo onboard the cruiser and the Senior General presented gifts to the Captain of the cruiser.

Then, the Senior General signed the visitors’ book onboard the cruiser.

Cruiser Moskva which can carry ballistic missiles was commissioned into service as of 1983. The cruiser weighing 12,490 tons is 186.5 metres long, 20.8 metres wide and 42.5 metres high with speed of 32 nautical miles per hour.

Afterwards, the Senior General and party operated the cruiser at the naval headquarters with the use of simulator and observed arms,fighter planes and armoured vehicles used by the naval headquarters. Officials conducted them round there.

Next, they proceeded to the southern port by speed boat and observed Submarine ROSTOV-NA-DONU. Captain of the submarine Lt. Commander Andrey Adamskiy conducted them round the submarine.Then, the Senior General presented gift to the Captain of the submarine and posed for documentary photo.

The submarine is of Kilo type diesel and electricity-powered multi-purpose one.The submarine, 73.8 metres long and 9.9 metres wide was built in 1990, weighing 2,350 tons on water surface and 3,950 tons underwater.

Vice Admiral Kulekov Valaydii hosted a lunch in honour of the Senior General and party. During the lunch, the naval band of the Russian Armed Forces performed song entertainment.After giving a commemorative gift to Vice Admiral Kulekov Valaydii, the Senior General presented the gift to the naval band of the Russian Armed Forces.
