Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visits Austria Army Museum, meets Embassy families

A Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who was on a working goodwill visit of Austria visited Austria Army Museum in Vienna at 10 am local standard time. The delegation members were accompanied by Myanmar Ambassador to Austria U San Lwin and wife and officials.
Responsible personnel conducted them round the museum.

Located in Vienna, Austria, Austria Army Museum is a renowned museum of Austrian Armed Forces. Built on 15 April 1850, it was inaugurated in 1856. One of the oldest buildings of Austria, it exhibits the historical facts of the Austrian empire since 1867 (mid-19th century), arms and weapon invention and modernization programmes, the development of tanks, armoured vehicles, naval vessels and aircraft, and the Austrian involvement in wars including the World War I and World War II sector wise.

On arrival at the Myanmar Embassy in Austria at 12.30 pm local standard time, the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and party were welcomed by Myanmar Ambassador U San Lwin and wife and the families of the embassy.

Afterwards, the Senior General said the tours to Austria and Germany were aimed at promoting relations between the armed forces of the EU countries and Myanmar. Amity and tie between the armed forces of the two countries would further strengthen the relation between the two countries. Myanmar established a diplomatic relation with Austria since 1953. Austria, an industrialdeveloped emperor had a fine history. Having a chance to perform duties and learn education in such a developed country was very beneficial to the country.Myanmar citizens were to re-apply their experience and knowledge for the development of country. Embassy staff should try to be profi cient in languages of respective countries and were urged to perform their duties through coordination and cooperation.

The Senior General continued to say that Myanmar is now on the path of multi-party democracy. Taking lessons from the past events, the country will not allow derailment from the present political way. The Tatmadaw will participate in the tasks to help develop the nation. The Senior General urged them to give a helping hand to Myanmar citizens abroad.

Then, the Senior General and party presented foodstuffs, gifts and clothes produced from Tatmadaw garment factories to the ambassador and wife, embassy families and female trainees who are attending the medical courses. Next, the embassy families hosted lunch to the Senior General and party.
