Nay Pyi Taw (4-4-2017)
All must be ever aware of the fact that the high prowess of the Special Operation Task Force-SOTF is directly proportional to the high capability of the Tatmadaw and the high dignity of the State. Continued training must be undergone to accomplish a mission any time, any where and any how, come hell or high water, said Commander-in- Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the conclusion of Special Operation Task Course (Women) No 1 held at the SOTF training ground of the Tatmadaw Advanced Training Depot here this morning.
Present on the occasion together with the Senior General were Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo, Commander-in- Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in- Chief, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, the commandant of the depot and officials.
First, members of the SOTF saluted the Senior General. Then, the Senior General delivered a speech at the closing ceremony of the course.
As regards the Special Operation Task Course Women), the Senior General said it is aimed at bringing out brilliant female soldiers of international level who are skilled in SOTF techniques and who can accomplish any kind of military, security or anti-terrorist mission.Fit and healthy women candidates who meet the required qualifications and who pass different kinds of examination procedures including the scrutiny process and medical check-up are chosen for the course.Female members of the course were able to complete their training course as they could pass step-by-step tests and do hard practical exercises like men. They must make preparations to successfully perform the duties to be assigned.
It is proud to see that Myanmar women are always equipped with national prestige and integrity and patriotic and military spirits. Patriotic women play a crucial role in pre-independence struggles. Some women also joined the army in the local peace-making period and then served the country’s duties. In 1954, female military units were formed for the State defence duties. Those units could turn out many outstanding female military personnel. They could perform their duties by holding different ranks in the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air). Like other international armies, the Tatmadaw was working to ensure the strength of women could help partly support the State defence. Take a look at developing countries, there is no gender discrimination in the utilization of human resources. The world top armies have formed women units for the State defence and security. Armed forces of some world countries have Special Operation Task Forces (Women).Women military personnel are performing their duties not only at the frontline military ground commands and as pilots but also at military headquarters. The formation of Special Operation Task Force (Women) in the Myanmar Tatmadaw is a credit to all Myanmar women, he continued. Regarding the national sovereignty, the Senior General said sovereignty is the lifeblood of a country. It needs to keep three powers namely legislative power, judicial power and executive power in hands of Myanmar citizens and ethnics. These powers should not be kept in hands of any foreigners directly or indirectly. If one influences sovereignty of our nation through various ways, it can be noted that the country would be enslaved indirectly under the neocolonialism. As the main duty of Tatmadaw is to defend and safeguard the State and citizens, we have to safeguard sovereignty of the State with sacrifice of life.
Then, the Senior General highlighted the anti-terrorist measures. Nowadays, the Senior General said that combating of terrorism plays a crucial role as many terrorist incidents happened across the world through variously unexpected ways, causing the larger volume of losses. Generally, it can be found that the terrorist activities were based on dissatisfaction with race and religious discrimination of government or country. Taking privilege of implementing the missions with the least members, the terrorist organizations commit the terrorism acts to show their stand and aims to the international community. The terrorist acts left innocent people dead and injured, causing publicpanic with delusiveness. It can harm and change State policy and international relations, political, military, economic and social sectors. It is difficult to predict things how to cause terrorist acts. If terrorist acts happen, it needs to successfully control those incidents with great difficulties . As such, it is very important to systematically and rapidly respond to the terrorist acts in a short time. It is necessary to recruit the many Special Operation Task Force members to be able to expose and deter these terrorist acts through various ways and means and combat the terrorists.
With regard to training, the Senior General continued to say that basic qualifications of the trainees must be polished in the training with the use of training aid to improve their capacity. Only when a Tatmadawman has basic needs such as health, fitness and confidence, will he be skillful in the training. In accord with the mottos: if one takes training, one will be skillful, if one is skillful, one will have confifi dence, if one has confidence, one will be brave, and if one is brave, one will achieve success, the trainees need the systematic trainings. As the special operation task course is hard and tired, the trainees need to apply their initiatives combined with military tactics obtained from the training lessons in the practical fields. The Senior General urged trainee in individual to try hard for showing the brilliant skills of Myanmar Tatmadaw to the international community by preserving their prestige and integrity.
Then, the Senior General presented the best female trainee award to Lieutenant Zin Thandar, the best sniper award to Police Sergeant Ei Phyo Aung, the best strengthening award to Sergeant/Clerk Aye Aye Pyone and the best combat troop award to leader Lieutenant Haymar Thida Kyaw on behalf of the Combat Group (6).

During the training period, the female trainees hardly attended the parachuting course and combating terrorism similar to that of male trainees after undergoing health examination and fitness test.
