The Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Commander-in- Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who is on a goodwill visit to China visited Fa Man Si (Famen temple) in Bao Ji in Shan Xi Province, China yesterday morning.
First, the Senior General and party looked round the temple compound by buggies. Then, they paid homage to the Buddha image and the sacred bone relic of the Buddha in the temple, and the Senior General donated cash to the abbot.
Afterwards, the Senior General and party posed for documentary photo in front of the temple and then visited the old temple where the finger bone relic of lord Buddha was previously housed.
The Senior General donated money and had documentary photo taken with the abbots there.
According to the explanations of officials, the finger bone relic in the Famen temple is the middle finger of the left hand of the Buddha. The bone relic has been conserved since about 1800 years. The old temple was built in 1987 and the new temple, in 2009.
