Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla hosted dinner in commemoration of 71st Anniversary Armed Forces Day at the lawn of Zeyathiri villa in Nay Pyi Taw this evening, attended by President U Thein Sein.
To mark the 71st Anniversary Armed Forces Day, fireworks were set off from Armed Forces Day parade ground and Bayintnaung villa at the beginning of the dinner.
The president, vice-presidents and the Senior General, together with Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commanderin- Chief (Army) Vice - Senior General Soe Win and wife, union ministers and their wives, Joint Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Khin Aung Myint and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Vice-Admiral Tin Aung San and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commanderin- Chief (Army), retired senior military officers, chairpersons of parliamentary committees, and the parade commander and column commanders, the officers and other ranks who won Thiha Thura titles, Thura titles and gallantry medals from 2011 to 2015 and their heirs, representatives from ethnic signatories of Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), military attaches and officials of foreign embassies, officials of Myanmar Police Force and Myanmar Fire Brigade and Myanmar Red Cross Society, members of Myanmar War Veterans Organization, people’s militia and border guard advisory command groups, students from University for Development of National Races, members of the University Training Corps, members of Myanmar Press Council, artists, winners in the military songs and marching songs, poems and short stories contests, and businessmen and the invited guests.
Before and during the dinner, the Myawady Music Band of Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare of the Office of Commander-in-Chief Office and artists entertained with songs.
Myawady Anyeint and soldiers of mobile public relations companies entertained the attendees with cultural dances and attendees presented bouquets to them.
