Myanmar Tatmadaw goodwill delegation led by Commander-in- Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing left Yangon International Airport at 9 am yesterday for a goodwill visit to India at the invitation of Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, PVSM, AVSM, VM, Chief of Joint Chiefs of Staff of Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) of the Republic of India and the Indian Air Force Chief of Air Staff, and arrived at Bangalore airport in India the same day at 11:10 am local standard time.
The Senior General and delegation were welcomed at the airport by Air Marshal Ramesh Rai, Commander of Bangalore-based Air Force Training Base headquarters of India, and wife, Vice Air Marshal Rajiv Hora, commandant of aviation system and test flight division, and wife, Myanmar Ambassador to India U Aung Khin Soe and wife, Myanmar Military Attache (Army, Navy, Air) Col Hsan Nyunt Oo and wife, and officials.
The Senior General and delegation then proceeded to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited headquarters.
On arrival at Light Combat Aircraft Manufacturing (LCA) at 12:20 hours local standard time, they were welcomed by Chairman and Chief of Managing Director Mr. T Subara Raju of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and offi cials, who conducted them round the air plane manufacturing plants.
They also visited Light Combat Helicopter Manufacturing (LCH) and HAWK Final Assembly.
Later they viewed vehicles, equipment and electronics displayed by Bharat Earth Movers Limited, Bharat Electronic Limited, Larsen and Toubro Heavy Engineering exhibited by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited headquarters. At the AKASH Conference Hall, they listened to the reports presented by officials of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bharat Electronic Limited, Bharat Earth Movers Limited, Larsen and Toubro Heavy Engineering, TATA Advanced Systems Limited, and Mahindra Defence Land Systems with the aid of power point. The Senior General and delegation asked for more information.
Later, plaques and gifts were exchanged. The Senior General and delegation arrived back at the airport at 4:45 pm local standard time.
They left the airport at 5 pm local standard time, and were seen off by Air Marshal Ramesh Rai and wife and Vice Air Marshal Rajiv Hora and wife.
Bangalore is the capital of the state of Karnataka in South India. It has a population of about 8.42 million, making it the third most populous city which is also well-known as the Silicon Valley of India. Bangalore included in one of the world’s best places for startup business entrepreneurs is also famous for its industries and IT technology.
On arrival at Goa at 6:10 pm local standard time, the Senior General and delegation were welcomed by Rear Admiral Ravneet Singh, Fleet Officer, Goa Commanding Area, and officials at the airport. They then went to Park Hyatt Goa hotel for temporary stay.
Lying on the western coast of India, Goa has a population of about one million. It is the main producer of iron, cashew nut, and spices and because of its beaches, ancient places of worship, a large number of local and foreign travelers visit Goa.
The Senior General and delegation left the hotel at 8 pm local standard time to attend dinner hosted by Rear Admiral Ravneet Singh in their honor. On arrival at Venue Officer Mess at 8:20 pm local standard time, they were warmly greeted by Rear Admiral Ravneet Singh and wife and officials.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing exchanged usual pleasantries and souvenirs with Rear Admiral Ravneet Singh and Senior General’s wife with Mrs. Singh. Goa Naval Area band entertained with songs before and during the dinner.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing signed in the visitor’s book. The Senior General and delegation spent the night at the hotel.
