Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife pay homage to Dhamma Rekkhita Wuntho Monastery Sayadaw undergoing eye operation

Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla paid homage to Myitkyina Dhamma Rekkhita Wuntho Monastery Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhammajotika Bhaddanta Silavamsa at the eye operation ward of the Defence Service General Hospital here this evening. 

First, the Senior General and wife, accompanied by Director of Medical Services Maj-Gen Soe Win, arrived at the hospital and paid homage to the Wuntho Sayadaw, who is undergoing a cataract operation. Next, the Senior General supplicated on the situation of the operation on the Sayadaw and the construction of the 1,000- Arhat Shinbin Myatswa Aung Thukha Pagoda on Shwe Moe Mountain in Mongna Village, Waingmaw Township, Kachin State, and offered bird’s nest nutrients to the Sayadaw. 

With a poor eyesight after suffering from cataract, the Wuntho Sayadaw has been admitted to the Nay Pyi Taw Defence Services General Hospital since 9 February receiving eye surgical operation at the eye operation ward. The military specialists performed an operation on the Sayadaw’s left eye on 16 February and another operation on his right eye on 23 February. After Phacoemulsification + Foldable Implantation, the Sayadaw enjoyed good eyesight again today.
