Despite its unspoiled beauty, Ngapali yet to reach its full potential

Ngapali Beach is ranked eighth in the list of world’s top ten beaches

Yangon April 1

Despite the fact that Ngapali in Rakhine State’s Kyaukpyu Township is one of the most spectacular beaches in the world, it has yet to develop to its full potential, said a responsible person of Hotels and Tourism Association.

Although Ngapali Beach possesses stunning unspoiled beauty, it fails to attract foreign tourists because tourism industry has not yet developed there. And foreign travellers prefer Chaungtha Beach in Ayeyawady Region to Ngapali Beach.

Hoteliers and tour operators have called on the government to take more concrete actions to improve hotel industry to draw more foreign visitors to Ngapali Beach as it is imbued with the most breathtaking scenery among the beaches in the country.

Though the number of local travellers to the beach has been on the increase in recent years, it is still a low number compared to Chaungtha and Ngwe Hsuang Beaches. Recently, CNN has published its list of top ten beaches in the world and Ngapali Beach is ranked eighth in the list.

Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos is ranked first, followed by Brazil’s Baia Do Sancho, Cuba’s Playa Paraiso, Seychelles’ Amse Lazio, Venezuela’s ayode Agua, Puerto Rico’s Flamenco Beach, Spain’s Playa De SesIlletes, Myanmar’s Ngapali Beach, Honduras’ West Bay Beach and Philippines’ Nacpan Beach.

CNN continued to say that Myanmar is spotted with tourist destinations, and tourism industry is developing rapidly there and that it is time to develop spectacular Ngapali Beach which lies off Adman Sea. (Soe Moe)
