More travellers come to Gawyingyi Island this year

Gawyingyi Island located on Ngayokekaung Township, Ayeyawady Region, becomes famous as a natural beach resort and more travellers visit it this year, according to the Jovago Travel Industry.

“Gawyingyi Island became famous on social media this year and service prices are also reasonable. For the development of tourism sector in Myanmar, we are advertising hidden places of the country that have unspoiled natural beauty,” said U Zaw Wei, press officer of Jovago Myanmar.

Gawyingyi Island is beautiful like Chaungtha and Ngwesaung beaches and travellers can stay at the homes of locals (or) newly-built bungalows when they come to the island.

“Drawbacks in visiting the island include poor roads and lack of food shops. So visitors should take their own food. I think it is more suitable to go to the island in group,” said Ko Zin who has been to Gawyingyi Island.

The fee of motorboat to go round the beach is from Ks-1,000 to Ks- 2,000 per head and a chartered boat costs around Ks-15,000.
