Secuity forces seize narcotics worth over Ks-85 million in Mabein Township while taking security measure

Security forces performing regional security duties seized narcotics worth over Ks-4,000 million in Moemeik and Mabein townships in Shan State (North), from August 14 to 18. From August 19 to date, the security forces could seize narcotics worth over Ks-85 million and arrested fi ve persons involved in drug cases.

Acting on a tip-off, the security forces together with the combined team comprising departmental officials went to MoeloVillage in Moemeik Township. The combined team seized 1.5 grams of heroin, 37 WY brand stimulant tablets and 343 88/1 brand stimulant tablets worth over Ks-800,000 from U Tun Lu’s son U Aik Poh and U Aik Hla’s son U Aik Oo in a hut in locally-called Nartee about fi ve miles east of Moelo Village at around 2 pm on August 20. In addtion, the combined team seized 1.1 grams of heroin worth Ks-80,000 from U Maung Lay and U Win Paing, son of U Aung Gyi, while seraching the house of U Maung Lay, son of U Shein in Lawar Village in Mabein Township at about11 am on August 21. At around 6 pm on the same day, the combined team arrested U Li Thar, son of U Li Par in a hut about 6.5 miles east of Moelo Village with 30 grams of heroin put in three soap cups, 20,600 WY brand stimulant tablets and 8,000 88/1 brand stimulant tablets worth over Ks-59 million.

Likewise, security forces continued searching according to the related information. They arrested Hsan Lin Oo, son of U Than Myint and Aik Su, son of Aik Lar who hid themselves in a hut, about 11 miles southeast of Sipein Village, along with 9,600 WY brand stimulant tablets, 2,000 88/1 brand stimulant tablets, one motorcycle without licence, one home-made gun and one percussion lock firearm with long barrel worth more than Ks-23 million at about 6 pm on 22 August and U Htoo Tha Mue, son of U Po Lyan, along with one gram of heroin, 210 WY brand stimulant tablets and one percussion lock firearm worth more than Ks-500,000 at his house in old Pinkyein Village at about 3 pm on 23 August.

Moreover, a total of 991 WY brand stimulant tablets and one white plastic box in which lead sheets for abuse of drugs were kept hidden in the blanket worth more than Ks-1.9 million were seized without owner in a temporary hut, about six furlongs south of Sipein Village at about 2.15 pm on 26 August. A total of 33.6 grams of heroin, 31,438 WY brand stimulant tablets, 10,343 88/1 brand stimulant tablets and arms worth more than Ks-85 million and arrestees were systematically handed over to Mabein Myoma police station to be able to take action against them under the law.
