The opening and the prize-presentation ceremony of the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Golf Tourney was held today with the aim of producing Tatmadaw golfers who will bring honour to the nation and promoting golf standard. On behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win formally opened the tourney and presented prizes to the winners.
First, the opening ceremony of the 2017-2018 Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) Golf Tourney was held at Nay Pyi Taw Golf Club. Vice-Senior General Soe Win and party cordially greeted the golfers. Then the Vice-Senior General, the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air), the Commander-in-Chief (Navy), the Commander-in-Chief (Air), the Adjutant-General and the Quartermaster-General teed off the smoke ball to open the tourney. Afterwards, they posed for documentary photo together with golfers. The golfers then took part in the tourney from the respective tees.
The prize-presentation ceremony was held in the evening. The Vice-Senior General accompanied by Union ministers Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe and Lt- Gen Sein Win, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, golfers and members of the penal of judges attended the ceremony.
At the prize-presentation ceremony, Quartermaster-General Lt-Gen Nyo Saw presented the nearest to the pin award and second-round nearest to the pin award; Adjutant-General Lt-Gen Hsan Oo first-round nearest to the pin prize and daily furthest to the pin prizes; Lt-Gen Aung Kyaw Zaw most par and most birdie in individual handicap and scratch matches; Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw most eagle, hole in one and first, second and third prizes in individual handicap matches; Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San first, second and third prizes in individual scratch matches and third prizes in team-wise handicap and scratch matches; and Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo second prizes in team-wise handicap and scratch matches.
Vice-Senior General Soe Win presented first prize to the team of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Air) in team-wise handicap and championship shield to the team of Central Command in team-wise scratch.
At the ceremony, Myawady entertainment troupe of Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare performed. Eighteen teams from various military commands played at Zeyathiri golf course and Yaypya golf course in Nay Pyi Taw on 14 and 15 March.
