The seminar was held in Ayadaw Township on 26 January, mainly focusing on expanding the country’s Thanutkha market into world marketplace and promoting awareness on intellectual property law.

Importance of market research, trademark and logo design that plays a crucial part in expanding the new market, definition and rights of Geographical Indication and Intellectual Property and business-related laws were discussed at the seminar.

Daw Tin Ohnma Tun, deputy chairman of Intellectual Property Association, Secretary Daw Khaing Khaing Oo and member U Thein Aung who serves as an advocate shared their knowledge and experience on IP rights.

“All businesspersons need to make registration of their own trademark at the Township Farmland Management and Statistics Department as there is no Geographical Indication law in the country,” said Daw Khaing Khaing Oo.
