Nay Pyi Taw December 1

Two policemen who went missing Monday evening on their way back from Kutkai returned to the Namphatka outpost Tuesday night after being accosted, handcuffed, robbed and interrogated by members of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), according to the State Counsellor Office’s Information Committee,

Upon their arrival at the village of Namkwet at about 5:30 pm on Monday on their way to their outpost, a KIA armed group of about 10 men stopped their car by aiming firearms at them and took them to one of their stations on the top of a hill, with their hands handcuffed. After enquiring their personal details and confiscating their hand phones, they were released on Tuesday morning, it is learnt.
