Families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), well-wishers donate rice, edible oil, salt, gram, medicines and cash for nine prerequisites to Pariyatti monasteries, nunneries, home for the aged in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw

Families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and well-wishers donated rice, edible oil, salt, gram, medicines and cash for nine prerequisites to Pariyatti monasteries, nunneries and a home for the aged in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw, this afternoon, attended by Presiding Nayaka of Paukmyaing Tawya Monastery in Lewe Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Janinda and members of the Sangha. 

Also present on the occasion were Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Union Ministers Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe, Lt-Gen Sein Win and Lt-Gen Ye Aung, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, members of Nay Pyi Taw Council, well-wishers, members of social organizations and religious associations. 

First, the Senior General and congregation took the Five Precepts from the Presiding Nayaka of Paukmyaing Tawya Monstery and Metta Sutta recited by members of the Sangha. The Senior General offered alms to the Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw of Paukmyaing Tawya Monastery. 

The Vice-Senior General also donated offertories to Abbot of Taungthonlon Zaytawun Monastery Bhaddanta Vepulla, and the Union Ministers, senior military officers and well-wishers alms to members of the Sangha and nuns. 

The Senior General offered 381 bags of rice and 1,143 viss of gram donated by families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), the Vice-Senior General 114.30 viss of edible oil and 315 viss of salt donated by Myanmar Economic Holdings Ltd and well-wishers rice, edible oil, salt, gram and medicines to the Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw of Paukmyaing Tawya Monastery. 

The Senior General accepted cash for alms donated by families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) through General Mya Tun Oo and well-wishers. Then, well-wishers donated cash for the fund to the Vice-Senior General and senior military officers. 

An official supplicated on purpose of donations. Later, the Senior General and congregation took Anumodana Desana delivered by the Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw of Paukmyaing Tawya Monastery and shared merits gained. 

Families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and well-wisher people have been collectively making donations to Pariyatti monasteries, nunneries and homes for the aged in Pyinmana, Tatkon and Lewe townships in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area since 2006. At the today’s ceremony, they donated Ks-14,177,000, 466 bags of rice, 114.30 viss of edible oil, 1,143 viss of gram, 1,458 viss of salt, 2,100 packets of chilli powder, 700 packets of turmeric, 700 packets of spices, 1,000 boxes of instant shrimp-paste, 7,280 bottles of assorted medicines and other offertories.
