An official donates foodstuffs to locals.

A ceremony to provide aids for the temporarily displaced ethnic people of N’ginyan Township, Myitkyina District, Kachin State, was held at the Catholic Church of Tanphe Village on April 28 morning. Present were Col Nay Tun of Northern Command, Director U Aung Kyaw Htoo of the Department of Development of Border Areas and National Races, Chairman of Kachin State Red Cross Supervisory Committee U Ghenest, District Administrator U Khaunglan Tee and displaced ethnic people.
Col Nay Tun gave words of encouragement to the ethnic people, saying that they should return to their homes when the battles end and the situation become stable. He also explained necessary assistance being provided for the people who returned to Manwai Village, regional development undertakings, the efforts of the state government and the administrative bodies to restore the administrative machinery, and provision of supplies.
Then 364 bags of rice, 620 viss of cooking oil, 155 viss of salt, 930 viss of gram, donated by the Ministry of Border Affairs and 179 bottles of water, 179 packages of health accessories, 179 sets of tin pots and dishes donated by Kachin State Red Cross Supervisory Committee were presented through the officials for 383 males and 500 females totalling 883 of 178 households, of 13 villages of the township.
On behalf of the displaced persons of the township, Father Sot Aung of a Christian Church of Tanphe Village spoke words of thanks. Col Nay Tun cordially greeted the displaced persons and presented pamphlets containing an announcement for the temporarily displaced persons.
Local senior military officers also presented 96 bags of rice, 49 viss cooking oil, 114 viss of salt, and 327 viss of gram donated by the Ministry of Border Affairs for 100 males and 118 females totaling 218 of 71 households of Aung Lord Village of Tanai region at the Catholic Church of Ponkhon Ward, Tanai, and 364 bags of rice, 620 viss of cooking oil, 155 viss of salt, and 930viss of gram donated by the ministry for 520 males and 523 females totaling 1,043 of 261 households of Kahson Village at the Kachin Baptist Church of Langwa Village, Namti Township, Mohnyin District in the evening through the officials.
The administrator on behalf of the people of Aung Lord Village and Kahson Village spoke words of thanks. Local senior military officers cordially greeted them and presented pamphlets containing an announcement.
