Man Shwe Set Taw pagoda to open all the year round



Yangon February 8

The Man Shwe Set Taw (the Golden Footprints) Pagoda Board of Trustees said the auction will be put up for the construction of a bridge heading to the pagoda in Minbu-Saku Township in Magway Region.

The move aims to enable people make pilgrimage trips to the pagoda all the year round. The board has received suggestion letters for the auction, according to its official.

Currently, the normal route is about three miles from the Mone creek in the lower Settawyar. Pilgrims use temporary bridges during the festival period.

"Most of tourists usually take a boat trip on the Ayeyawady River, visit Shwe Set Taw Pagoda, Magway Myathalon Pagoda and blacksmiths works in Magway and take trishaws around the city," said an offi cial of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.
