Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy, Air) holds second rainy season tree planting ceremony

As for conserving the environment of Yezin dam, Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) held its second rainy season tree planting ceremony at a place near the dam, Zeyathiri Township, here at 7 am today, graced by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla who also planted trees.

At the ceremony, the Senior General planted a Khayay sapling and his wife a Gangaw sapling. Afterwards, the Deputy Commander- in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) and wife, Union ministers and their wives, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in- Chief and their wives, and everyone at the ceremony planted saplings at the designated spots.

Later, the Senior General and party cordially conversed with the officers, other ranks and families who were collectively growing trees.

Also present were Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, the Union Minister for Home Affairs and wife, the Union Minister for Defence and wife, the Union Minister for Border Affairs and wife, the Joint Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) Commanderin- Chief (Air) and wife, the Commander- in-Chief (Navy) and wife, senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in- Chief and their wives, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and wife, officer trainees of National Defence College, officers and other ranks of departments under the Office of the Commander-in- Chief (Army), and family members.

The second tree plantation ceremony for 2016 grew 5,000 teak trees.

Likewise, the second raining season tree growing ceremonies were simultaneously held in military commands this morning. The command commanders, officials, officers, other ranks and families grew 88,652 plants in Nay Pyi Taw Command, 36,039 plants in Northern Command, 17,455 plants in North-East Command, 33,243 plants in Eastern Command, 11,000 plants in Central-East Command, 19,265 plants in Triangle Region Command, 39,561 plants in South- East Command, 21,485 plants in Coastal Region Command, 34,569 plants in Yangon Command, 10,793 plants in South-West Command, 10,081 plants in Western Command, 12,880 plants in North-West Command, 50,983 plants in Central Command, and 39,021 plants in Southern Command. Today, the Tatmadaw collectively cultivated 430,027 saplings in total. (100)
