Vice-Senior General Soe Win receives EU Ambassador to Myanmar

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win received EU Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Kristian Schmidt at the parlour Bayintnaung Villa here this afternoon. 

Also present at the call together with the Vice-Senior General were senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army). The EU Ambassador was accompanied by Counsellor and Head of Political, Press & Information Section Ms. Eszter Nemeth. 

Both sides cordially discussed and exchanged views on the relations between Myanmar and EU member countries, Myanmar’s efforts to achieve eternal peace by holding the Union Peace Conference-21st Century Panglong under the cooperation of the government, Tatmadaw, ethic armed organizations and the people in pursuing democracy, amendment to the State Constitution in accord with the provisions of Chapter (12)as necessary, measures being taken by the Tatmadaw in line with the White Paper in building a standard army, latest developments in Rakhine State, Tatmadaw’s full cooperation with the Independent Enquiry Commission formed by the President in its functions over Rakhine issue and measures taken by the government in accordance with the laws regarding actions taken against the two Reuters reporters.
