Senior General Min Aung Hlaing holds talks with a team led by Karen National Union (KNU) Chairman Saw Mutu Sae Poe

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a representative team led by Karen National Union (KNU) Chairman Saw Mutu Sae Poe at the parlour of Zeyathiri Beikman of Yangon Command Headquarters yesterday evening.

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), and member of the Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee Lt-Gen Khin Zaw Oo (Retd). The Karen National Union (KNU) Chairman was accompanied by Vice Chairman Pado Saw Kwe Htoo Win and members.

At the meeting, they discussed future processes for the peace and agreed that the Tatmadaw will understandingly suspend improvement of the Khaypu-Loimupalaw route relieving the concerns of Karen National Union (KNU), and the local ethnic people of the region will have to live and do their businesses peacefully and go elsewhere freely.

After the meeting, the Senior General and the Chairman of Karen National Union (KNU) posed for documentary photo after exchanging commemorative gifts.
