Nay Pyi Taw December 7
Multiple mortar rounds were fired at Waimaw township, Kachin State, in the morning and afternoon on Monday by an armed group from the Kachin Independence Army (KIA), according to the Office of Commander-in-Chief of Defense Service.
The shells landed in multiple locations in Waimaw but did not explode, officials said.
Government troops examined the unexploded bombs, finding that they were 107 millimeter rocket mortar rounds produced by a neighboring country, said the announcement released by the office.
